"One important key to success is self-confidence. An important key to self-confidence is preparation."

Don't Get Around Much Anymore?
Circulate. Check out what's happening on the factory floor, in other departments, or wherever a situation can benefit from your presence.
You can't improve what you can't see.
Today's Idea For Action is from the TQ Synergize Color: Make it Easy for Others to Help.
Print this page. Get out a pen. Better, Sign In and Answer Online.
Now, ask yourself the following three questions:
- What impression will you make on others when they know that you care about how they're doing?
- With what element of your operation are you least familiar?
- Where, in your worksite, haven't you been lately? When could you check it out tomorrow?
So, Just How Committed to High Achievement Are You?
A high commitment (7F rated 8 or better) suggests you are someone who understands that people helping people is a two-way street. You believe that your best chance of getting the help you need is by doing everything possible to make it easy for others to help. This begins with the obvious task of identifying who could best help you and recruiting them. When you do, you're enthusiastic and your requests are clear. You organize all the materials they will need in advance. More importantly, you show genuine appreciation for everything they do -- while they're doing it -- and after it's done.
A lack of commitment suggests you are someone who never really gets the help you expect or need. It could be that you never ask the right people -- or that when the right people DO show up -- nothing gets done because you are so poorly organized. You may ask for too much, or maybe you don't clearly articulate what you want. Perhaps you always wait until the last minute to ask. Or maybe you never make people feel like you appreciate their assistance. The only thing you know for sure is that fewer and fewer people are now showing up when asked.
What happens when you do TQ Factor 7F more frequently?
You have more power. You get a lot of valuable help when you need it.
You accumulate performance positives like "Facilitative, Thoughtful and Considerate" -- immediately moving you towards the results you expect.
What happens when you fail to consistently do TQ Factor 7F?
You have less power. People rarely volunteer to help -- and almost no one helps you more than once.
Negatives like "Difficult, Thoughtless and Unappreciative" start to take their toll on your performance -- quickly moving you away from the success you want.
